A Florida restaurant owner is refusing to serve supporters of Joe Biden after the bungled Afghanistan withdrawal.
Following news that 13 servicemembers had died during the botched pullout last week, the owner of Debary Diner in DeBary posted a sign telling Biden supporters they're not welcome.
"If you voted for and continue to support and stand behind the worthless, inept and corrupt administration currently inhabiting the White House that is complicit in the death of our servicemen and women in Afghanistan, please take your business elsewhere," the sign stated.
The owner of the diner, Angie Ugarte, told local media WFOL she posted the sign in anger and as a form of protest.
"It was the only thing I felt like I could do," she said. "I was just angry. I was just let down. I felt like one of those mothers, or wives, or sisters who were gonna get that knock on the door."
According to Ugarte, a number of her customers are military veterans and she has an entire wall dedicated to servicemembers.
"If you really, really still stand behind what's allowed this to happen and the way it happened – which was unnecessary then I really don't want to be associated with you in any way and I certainly don't want your business," she said.
Customer reactions ranged from supportive to appalled.
"She has the right to not let anybody in the restaurant that supports a certain view," said one patriot, while another Debary customer said, "I wouldn't go there. I don't appreciate it."
As for Ugarte, she says she's keeping the sign up for as long as it takes, especially considering there are still Americans stranded in Afghanistan.
