There are afternoon meetings from Salisbury, Haydock and Sedgefield on Thursday, before Racing League action at Newcastle, alongside a seven-race card offering from Chelmsford and Irish racing from Clonmel and Dundalk.

Salisbury is the stand-out afternoon fare today, where there are six races between 13:00 and 15:35.

In the second race of the day, at 13:30, Outbreak (EVS) is a likely contender in the Byerley Stud Novice Stakes, over 1m. Mark Johnston's once-raced Dark Angel colt was clear in second spot on his debut at Chelmsford 12 days ago (fourth won since) behind a rival that had shaped well previously in a good Newmarket maiden. With normal improvement he should be hard to peg back now under the champion jockey this afternoon.

Later at Salisbury, in the finale at 15:35, Oisin Murphy will hope to sign off with another winner in the Molson Coors Handicap (1m2f) with Neenee's Choice (11/10) for Andrew Balding's team.

The Paco Boy gelding is improving with each run this season since moving to turf (figures read 211) and the manner in which he rallied for a winning handicap bow at Newbury last time over a mile offers lots of optimism that he'll improve again upped in distance.

Meanwhile, Sedgefield's six-race card starts at 13:15, finishing up after the 15:55, while Haydock stages seven contests between 14:10 and 17:25.

The Racing League at Newcastle will be the main attraction later and there are another six races on the Tapeta in the north east, starting at 18:05 and finishing up after the 20:05.

In the 19:35, a 1m2f affair, Billhilly (11/4) is eyeing a hat-trick following a double at Lingfield last month. The in-form gelding, who is usually as good on the AW as he is on turf, carries a 5lb penalty but that shouldn't deter him too much.

Betfred are running their 'Neck Or Less' and 'Extra Place' promotions across the whole Newcastle card later.

Chelmsford's evening meeting starts at 17:55, where there are seven races, culminating with the 20:55.

The two Irish meetings on Thursday come from Dundalk and Clonmel with the former staging eight races between 15:00 and 18:30, while the latter's seven-race card starts at 16:15 and runs until 19:15.
