Saturday always elicits excitement in the racing world and this time around there are a combined eight meetings from either side of the Irish Sea.

First to Gowran Park for eight races between 13:00 and 17:05. Punters will want to take note of the 14:10, which falls under Betfred's Extra Place race banner.

A Handicap Hurdle, Tullyhogue Fort may have gone up 12lb for his September win at Galway but the feeling is he could take advantage of his 3/1 by striking again against what looks like a weak field.

Back to the UK and it is Sun Chariot Stakes day at Newmarket where they go off seven times from 13:10 to 16:40.

The feature at 14:55 is one of three Extra Place races along with the 13:45 and 14:20 and has attracted a quality field headlined by Richard Hannon's 3/1 Snow Lantern but Aidan O'Brien's 1,000 Guineas winner Mother Earth, 11/4, may well take the honours with Ryan Moore on board.

Back to Ireland for seven races from Killarney where they are off at 13:25, and the 14:35 and 15:45 again fall under the Extra Place banner, as does the closer at 16:55.

After three straight second places, Noel Meade will fancy 2/1 Crassus to finally get the nod in this Handicap, although respect is also to be paid to 11/2 course winner Ivy Avenue.

There are also six afternoon races at Ascot between 13:30 and 16:25. Again the Extra Place is in play, this time in the 15:15 and 15:50 but also kicks off the card.

An open looking Listed filles' stakes, Highfield Princess has dropped in grade to feature here and is 5/2 to triumph.

Meanwhile, at Redcar, their eight races run from 13:50 to 17:50. An Extra Place is on offer in the 15:35 and the same applies to the closer where Good Luck Fox looks to be getting better all the time and is 11/1 to grab a third win of the year.

There's also afternoon action at Chester with seven contests between 13:55 and 17:20 while there are the same amount of races at Fontwell, where they head off at 14:50 and come home at 18:10.

Finally and Wolverhampton is the venue for the day's sole evening card, with eight races between 16:52 and 20:30 on the tapeta.

All of this octet carry Betfred's Neck or Less promotion and in the closer, last time out C&D winner Meadram is likely to take some stopping at Evens.
