'YouTube put another strike on my channel because I showed an unedited pic of my spontaneous raccoon eye after my J&J vaccine,' Dr. Drew announced via Twitter.'Are medical doctors not allowed to discuss medicine anymore?'
YouTube has blocked renowned physician Dr. Drew Pinsky from going live on its platform after he showed a vaccine-related eye injury he incurred after receiving an experimental Covid jab.
Pinsky exposed the censorship effort via Twitter Monday, saying he received "another" strike on his channel "because I showed an unedited pic of my spontaneous raccoon eye after my J&J vaccine."
Here we go again. @TeamYouTube put another strike on my channel because I showed an unedited pic of my spontaneous raccoon eye after my J&J vaccine. I even said "the CDC states COVID-19 vaccines are safe & effective." Are medical doctors not allowed to discuss medicine anymore? pic.twitter.com/QZhMWCGgtv
A screenshot shows his appeal of YouTube's strike was rejected by the company.
"I even said 'the CDC states COVID-19 vaccines are safe & effective.' Are medical doctors not allowed to discuss medicine anymore?" Pinsky asked on Twitter.
Pinsky added the suspension would prevent him from going live on Wednesday with the inventor of mRNA technology Dr. Robert Malone.
Unless @YouTube fixes it, I'm blocked from streaming Dr. Malone on Weds. They don't understand that censoring only feeds conspiracy theories. Now thousands will think YT is "covering up" a secret, instead of allowing us to refute misinformation with truth. https://t.co/TEt6GYrAQ0
"They don't understand that censoring only feeds conspiracy theories," Pinsky warned. "Now thousands will think YT is 'covering up' a secret, instead of allowing us to refute misinformation with truth."
Dr. Drew went on to encourage fans to watch his show on other streaming platforms, saying, "We are in Youtube jail again because of this post last week. A discussion between Doctors is not allowed. We want you to try another platform this week."
Following up on Tuesday, Pinsky explained his team appealed the strike on his channel – only to receive another strike Tuesday morning.
"How can I refute misinformation if I can't even talk about misinformation?" Dr. Drew asked.
"We can't reach people lurking in the shadows by turning off the lights. They see a coverup & imagine there's a larger crime," he tweeted, adding, "@YouTube is driving their viewers straight into the arms of conspiracy theorists."
We appealed the strike. How did @YouTube respond? They simply added another strike this morning. I'll discuss this & answer your calls at 3pm PT on @RumbleVideo – a platform with the courage to defend free speech. https://t.co/rcWBSpDq1C
Here's the segment of Dr. Drew's show that earned him the YouTube strike, where he recalls having "a reaction to the vaccine" and says his son also suffered a "terrible" reaction:
