Going into their game against Croatia on Sunday night, I felt bullish about their chances. An early goal increased my confidence. That however ebbed away and for Canada, Qatar 2022 will not be ending in glory. For Morocco however, just avoiding defeat will guarantee they'll be playing in the Round of 16. We review some of the key betting markets heading into this game...
Beating the second-ranked team on the planet should be a big boost to Morocco's confidence and of course in turn has put them in a brilliant position to make it out of the group. One small caveat is that this Belgian side are not that good and they look like a side that have gone a tournament too far. It was no big surprise seeing them lose and there is no doubt that Walid Regragui's side thorough deserved it.
The 0-0 draw to Croatia in their opener looks better with time having seen their opposition that night just crush Canada in their opening game. Morocco haven't conceded in six straight games, so that is a statistic to put in the back of your mind if you are planning on playing the BTTS market.
We've added plenty of new player prop bets that are available around 24-48 hours before kick-off including tackles, assists and Shots on Target. You can check out all our latest prices for this one via the Latest Canada vs Morocco Odds button below.

As for Canada, I had such high hopes after seeing the way they played against Belgium. If only they could have found a way to convert the chances that they created in that game, things could have been an awful lot different. Instead they are going out of the World Cup but with a good nucleus of young talent, they have every chance of going further when the tournament comes to their home shore in four years time.
On Thursday afternoon however they once more are the outsiders but maybe not to the vast degree that you may have expected. John Herdman's side are 13/5 to leave the competition with a victory in their back pocket with the draw only slightly shorter at 12/5. The Morocco victory is odds against coming in at 23/20.
World Cup Betting Odds
I have no doubt that Canada will be playing with plenty of freedom tomorrow as they have absolutely nothing to lose. Morocco's fine defensive record will be put to the test but on the flip side, waves of Canadian pressure could lead to plenty of counter-attacking opportunities for the African side. I like plenty of shots on target to be recorded and Alphonso Davies for 2+ at 3/1 and Romain Saiss for 1+ at 10/3 both stand out either as a single or a leg of a PickYourPunt Bet Builder opportunity.
The aforementioned BTTS is odds-on at 4/5 despite Morocco's really impressive defensive record. Tough one to read here as Canada are not the best team they've played in recent games but they are also the side with nothing on the line, so are free to go out there and express themselves. So I can see why the price is shorter than expected.
