Canada vs Morocco Odds: The Canadians have nothing to lose

Going into their game against Croatia on Sunday night, I felt bullish about their chances. An early goal increased my confidence. That however ebbed away and for Canada, Qatar 2022 will not be ending in glory. For Morocco however, just avoiding defeat will guarantee they'll be playing in the Round of 16. Beating the second-ranked team on the planet should be a big boost to Morocco's confidence and of course in turn has put them in a brilliant position to make it out of the group. One small caveat is that this Belgian side are not that good and they look like a side that have gone a tournament too far. As for Canada, I had such high hopes after seeing the way they played against Belgium. If only they could have found a way to convert the chances that they created in that game, things could have been an awful lot different. Instead they are going out of the World Cup but with a good nucleus of young talent, they have every chance of going further when the tournament comes to their home shore in four years time.

On Thursday afternoon however they once more are the outsiders but maybe not to the vast degree that you may have expected.
