Vincent Kompany has brought a more attack-minded style of football to Turf Moor this season and Burnley, top of the Championship table heading into the weekend, will be hoping to keep this free-flowing football going when they make the trip to Queens Park Rangers on Sunday.
For all the good work Sean Dyche did in charge of the Clarets, it's fair to say his style of football was never the most glamorous to watch, as he did the best with the options at his disposal during his time at the helm.
Kompany's appointment was somewhat of a risk but he has been thoroughly impressive since taking the reins in the summer, guiding the Lancashire outfit to top spot in the table and bringing more excitement to Turf Moor.
Next up for Burnley is a clash against QPR, who are yet to replace manager Michael Beale since his departure to Rangers and have Paul Hall in interim charge for the time being.
QPR vs Burnley Betting Tips
- Burnley to win and both teams to score @ 10/3
- Ashley Barnes to score anytime @ 2/1
Team news
QPR remain without Ilias Chair, who is still in Qatar at the World Cup with Morocco, but the Hoops are set to welcome back number one goalkeeper Seny Dieng following Senegal's exit from the major tournament in the Middle East.
Burnley are missing Anass Zaroury as he also remains with Morocco at the World Cup, meaning Nathan Tellas is likely to take his spot on the left flank in Kompany's starting XI.
Ashley Barnes scored a brace in the last game before the break and he will be hoping to retain his place ahead of top goalscorer Jay Rodriguez, while Ashley Westwood may return to the squad after recovering from injury.
Latest QPR vs Burnley Betfred Odds
Burnley to win and both teams to score @ 10/3
Burnley's change in style has been clear to see this season with their tally of 40 goals leading the way in the Championship, five more than nearest rivals Sheffield United.
While the Clarets have been impressive in attack, they haven't been rock-solid at the back and have conceded 23 goals - only three teams have let in more of the sides sitting in the top 12 in the standings.
Kompany's side have only lost one of their last 20 matches across all competitions and they will fancy their chances of getting the better of QPR, who are without a permanent manager and have taken just one point from the last 15 on offer.
The Hoops do offer a threat coming forward and they have only failed to score in one of their previous five home games, so they should at least be able to get on the scoresheet in what will likely end up being a defeat.
Ashley Barnes to score anytime @ 2/1
Burnley striker Barnes failed to find the back of the net in his first 13 Championship appearances of the season, a record that was putting the pressure on his shoulders and raising the question about his place in the team.
However, the 33-year-old managed to bag a brace in the 3-0 victory over Blackburn before the season break and he will be eager to keep that form going against QPR, who have kept just one clean sheet from their last six league assignments.
