- Back Annan Athletic to beat Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic at 13/10
This might not exactly be a game on the radar for most but I always like to look far and wide when producing this column and when I see a side at the bottom of the table who aren't odds-on to lose, it always piques my interest.
Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic have lost three straight whilst conceding nine and having failed to score in those games. One of those games was at home to the team immediately above them in the table - and they lost that one 0-4!
The three-game skid started with a 4-0 defeat at Annan Athletic just a fortnight ago. On that Saturday afternoon at the Galabank, the visitors only managed to have one shot in the whole game. Facing a team that beat you so comprehensively again in such a short-period of time is not going to be easy, certainly when the hosts are on such a skid.
As for Annan, they have scored seven and conceded not one in two good wins over the last two weeks. A 4-0 home victory against Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic was followed up by 3-0 victory over ten-man East Fife. Manager Peter Murphy was happy that his team have started to be a bit more ruthless in front of goal having struggled in that department in recent weeks.
The long and short of it though is the two teams met a fortnight ago and Annan won 4-0 and when you add that to the fact the home side tasted a 4-0 defeat to the team above them in the table earlier in the month, you know they are in pretty abject form. They haven't scored since before Christmas and the away win at odds against in this scenario feels like a good way to go.
