It's another busy day of racing action ahead on Thursday with five meetings taking place across the UK and Ireland.
National Hunt racing holds sway in the afternoon with cards due at Doncaster, Huntingdon, Ffos Las and Thurles while the evening's all-weather meeting is from Newcastle.
Our Thursday fancies include an improving chaser for Dan and Harry Skelton headed for Ffos Las.
Selections
- Ffos Las 2.33 - Heltenham @ 6/4
- Huntingdon 3.00 - Rare Edition @ 5/4
- Newcastle 6.40- Golden Rainbow @ 11/1
Tip 1
How's The Cricket made a winning chase bow over C&D in October and has run as well or better in one start since at Taunton in January, ensuring Harry Fry's challenger is due plenty respect, but preference is for Dan Skelton's HELTENHAM (6/4) on this occasion.
He was lightly-raced as a hurdler and made decent shapes on his first two chase starts this season, finishing second at Stratford (2m5f, good) in October and again at Southwell (2m4½f, soft) the following month.
He put those experiences to good use at Newcastle (2m4f, soft) when notching his first win under rules on Boxing Day. That form has been advertised, with the runner-up and fourth home winners on their next starts, and a 7lb rise may not prevent further success here for Harry Skelton's partner.

Tip 2
A Listed treat from Huntingdon on Thursday afternoon as they stage the Sidney Banks Memorial Novices' Hurdle (3.00), a contest in which Persian Time for Nicky Henderson, the Tom Lacey runner Ginny's Destiny and Charlie Longsdon's RARE EDITION (5/4) are all considered key players.
The last-named is now 4-4 under Rules after his impressive front-running success on Boxing Day at Kempton (2m, soft) in the hands of Sam Twiston-Davies, who rides again now.
He has been travelling very strongly in his races and should have few worries going up in distance today.
The Paul Nicholls-trained runner-up at Kempton, Rubaud, has won his previous two over hurdles at Taunton but had no answer to Rare Edition once they pulled clear of the field. Going up in trip should suit the selection here, who may well have graded-race ambitions before too long.
Tip 3
This 5f Newcastle sprint looks wide open on paper despite the presence of last-time-out winners Pay For Adaay (Southwell) and Papa Don't Preach (here), and that's reflecting in the betting.
One that looks worth a chance at a double-figure price is GOLDEN RAINBOW (11/1) for new trainer Paul Midgley.
The Havana Gold gelding is a C&D winner already and was second-best here in December on final start for his previous handler. He's off the same mark now but does have Mark Winn claiming 5lb in the saddle and from near the foot of the weights, they should give this a bold sight.
They make the cut on the Most Napped table via the Betfred Betfinder on today's racing and should outrun their odds.
