When the fixture list was drawn up in the summer, Tottenham's clash with Chelsea was initially thought of as a top-four clash, but that could not be further from the truth ahead of Sunday's clash in north London.
While Spurs occupy fourth spot and can further cement that as third-placed Manchester United and fifth-placed Newcastle United play in the EFL Cup final, Chelsea are 10th heading into this weekend's fixtures.
Graham Potter continues to struggle to get a tune out of his team, but he will hope his side can get the job done against one of their biggest rivals.
Tottenham vs Chelsea Betting Tips
- Tottenham to win and under 2.5 goals @ 3/1
- Cristian Romero to be carded @ 7/4
The odds suggest Sunday's game could be tight, and it is easy to see why considering the recent form of the two.
Spurs are 6/4 to grab all three points, while the draw is 9/4. Chelsea, who have won just one of their previous 10 in all competitions, are available at 15/8 to win on the road.
Team news
Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris remains on the sidelines, meaning Fraser Forster will continue between the sticks for Spurs. Rodrigo Bentancur, Yves Bissouma and Ryan Sessegnon join him in the treatment room.
Son Heung-min did not start the 2-0 win over West Ham, but he will likely return to the fold to replace Richarlison.
Chelsea's 1-0 defeat to Southampton came at a cost, with defender Cesar Azpilicueta carried off after suffering a concussion.
Armando Broja, Christian Pulisic and Edouard Mendy are also unavailable, but N'Golo Kante is back in training and on the comeback trail, although Potter is unlikely to risk him this weekend.
Latest Spurs vs Chelsea Betfred Odds
Tottenham to win and under 2.5 goals @ 3/1
Sunday's game could help Spurs kick on in their quest to secure Champions League football next season, especially with their rivals playing in the EFL Cup final.
Spurs have won four of their last six in all competitions to lift the mood in the camp, and they have won three of their previous four at home.
They kept clean sheets in all of those wins, and it would not be a surprise to see them win 1-0 this weekend, which is available at Correct Score odds of 7/1.
Chelsea have failed to score in three of their last five, while Potter's side have only scored six goals in their previous 11 league games. No team has scored fewer goals since the start of November and it is hard to back them to score considering that run of form.
Cristian Romero to be carded @ 7/4
If Spurs are to get over the line, they will need to keep the Chelsea attack quiet. While the Blues have struggled of late, they have seen some flashes of quality from January signing Joao Felix. Chelsea's forwards are full of pace, something Romero will not be pleased about.
The Argentina international has picked up seven yellow cards in Tottenham's last nine games, with two of those coming against Manchester City before he was dismissed earlier this month.
Romero will never shy away from a challenge, and he will do well to avoid trouble in Sunday's London derby.
