There are three midweek race meetings taking place across Britain and Ireland on Wednesday. Jumps action is from Fairyhouse and Southwell while the evening action is on the all-weather is at Kempton Park.
Our midweek fancies include One Last Tango for trainer Eoin Griffin bidding to get quickly back to winning ways at Fairyhouse.
Selections
- Fairyhouse 2.20 - One Last Tango @ 6/4
- Kempton 8.00 - Metier @ 15/2
- Southwell 4.40 - Lord Bill @ 10/1
Tip 1
The Book Your Easter Early Bird Tickets Now Rated Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse (2.20) looks a perfect spot for ONE LAST TANGO (6/4) to record a third hurdles win of the season for trainer Eoin Griffin.
The six-year-old gelding has proved something of a 'patience-required' horse in his career so far. It took him six goes to win his bumper and he was a similarly slow burner over hurdles, registering his breakthrough success on his seventh start at Punchestown (2m½f, good) in October after a short break.
He soon doubled that tally, notching the same month at Wexford (2m½f, heavy) from a 5lb higher mark.
He went up a further 10lb for that effort and was sent off favourite for a two-mile Leopardstown handicap hurdle on soft ground at their Christmas meeting, a contest that went the way of Winter Fog for champion trainer Willie Mullins in convincing fashion.
That was a good effort in a stronger race than this one and, from the same mark and with Aidan Kelly now claiming 7lb, he may find this is a good opportunity to get another success on the board.

Tip 2
Harry Fry's METIER (15/2) is worth a second look in the All-Weather Championships Fast-Track Qualifier over two miles on the evening card at Kempton.
The Grade 1-winnng novice hurdler was last spotted on the level winning the November Handicap at Doncaster (1m4f, heavy) and could be set for a positive showing on what is his all-weather debut.
He takes on smart performers like Earl Of Tyrone and Berkshire Rocco here but he was rated 90 on the Flat in Ireland early in his career and this mark of 94 could be within reach if he takes to the surface.
With eight runners and three places, the mount of Saffie Osborne is a decent value shout to make his mark.
Tip 3
Last week's Fakenham scorer Dev Tara goes unpenalised here and officially has 8lb in hand ahead of his mark being reassessed, Olly Murphy's charge has leading claims in that regard but a chance is taken on LORD BILL (10/1) instead for trainer Grace Harris.
With the best of his qualifying runs seeing him finishing second in 2m good-ground novice at Chepstow last April, Lord Bill was handed an opening mark of 93 as he began life in handicaps at the Welsh layout in October post wind surgery.
He was pulled up there but in December he ran a race with promise upped to three miles at Taunton on good ground, finishing fourth, having dipped to a mark of 84.
He races from the same perch now and should have more to come at this trip, while the forecast good ground is a positive. This unexposed stayer is on the Most Napped list via the Betfred Betfinder for today's racing and should give the favourite some food for thought.
