Borussia Dortmund (6/5) continued their perfect form since returning from the World Cup with a 1-0 win away to struggling Hoffenheim last weekend, with Julian Brandt's first-half strike being the difference between the sides.

Now only trailing leaders Bayern Munich by goal difference in a tightly contested title race, BVB will be desperate to maintain their winning run against an RB Leipzig (9/5) side who find themselves just four points behind the Bavarians at the top.

Goals from Timo Werner and Emil Forsberg were enough to secure Leipzig a victory against Frankfurt, making it three games unbeaten for Marco Rose's side coming into this clash.

Team News

Dortmund will remain without Karem Adeyemi, who injured his thigh after scoring for the third successive league game during a recent victory against Hertha Berlin.

Likewise, Julien Duranville, Youssoufa Moukoko, Abdoulaye Kamara and Mateu Morey are all expected to remain sidelined until later this month.

Leipzig, meanwhile, will travel without Abdou Diallo, Peter Gulasci and Dani Olmo due to existing injuries, while Konrad Laimer is suspended after receiving his fifth caution of the season against Frankfurt last time out.

This contest has all the makings of another classic battle, with both sides very much in a title race.

Previous meetings between these two sides have so often proved entertaining duels, with seven of the last eight meetings seeing over 2.5 goals scored, so I think over 2.5 goals will be scored again on Friday evening.

Both teams come into this fixture in pretty strong form, with BVB in particular enjoying a strong run of results. The hosts have won each of their last nine matches since the turn of the year while scoring 23 goals in the process, so I fancy Die Borussen to take the three points.
