Leopardstown Tips: Two to consider on Wednesday

We've some top class racing at Leopardstown to enjoy on Wednesday afternoon - and I've got a couple of tips for the occasion.

1.55 - Azazat
3.40 - Power Under Me

Opening the card at 1.55 is a fillies' maiden over 1m2f - and I think Dermot Weld's AZAZAT boasts strong claims.

The three-year-old ran just once as a 2yo, when headed late by a horse who put up a respectable effort in G3 company just the other day, which for me represents the best form on offer from this 10-strong field.

The daughter of Camelot, who holds an entry for the Irish Oaks, should come on leaps and bounds for that. She's already proved she copes with deep ground, which is another big plus, so providing she's ready to go first time out she should at least go extremely close here.

Boogie Woogie for Aidan O'Brien, with Ryan Moore on board, is an obvious danger, but any newbies would have to be significantly above average to beat the selection first time out and I'm more than willing to chance against that.

Next up, I'm looking at Ger Lyons' POWER UNDER ME as an each-way prospect in the big race of the day - the Listed contest over 1m at 3.40.

He's mostly raced over 6f, but ran over course and distance last time out in October last year and put up a near career-best, staying on strongly to win a Listed event by over a length.

The five-year-old also copes with deep ground, so Wednesday's conditions should be no bother - something I can't be sure is the case about favourite Homeless Songs, who also has questions to answer surrounding form after two bitterly disappointing efforts late last season.

As is almost always the case at this time of the Flat season, you're taking fitness on trust, but Power Under Me looks overpriced and I'd be disappointed if he can't make the frame.
