3:40 Mares Novice Hurdle
A very competitive race and they are all improving but shecouldbeanything has shown most so far. She finished best of those racing on Tuesday that also raced at the festival and before that has been solid around Punchestown twice. The Model Kingdom, who beat the selection at Punchestown is also of interest, but I prefer to judge horses on their performances at the big days.
4:50 Handicap Hurdle
Mr Mcmanus is having a few attempts at this and I think his best chance is Brazil who has plenty of form with good horses. A winner of the Boodles at Cheltenham last year, a 2nd to Champ Kiely early this season, and beating Fil Dor more recently. A prep run on the flat last time out, should have him ready for a strong showing.
6:35 Champion Novice Chase
It is a Mullins show, with 4 of 6 runners from Willie Mullins and 1 of the remaining 2 from Emmet. I am siding with Classic Getaway, who for me is the obvious stayer of the group. He won his point over 3 miles, was targeted straight for the Albert Bartlett although pulled up, and then recently won his first chase start over 2 and a half miles on testing ground. He will have to jump a bit better, and will have to finally live up to his original hype and price tag, but I do believe there is talent there and maybe this trip over fences can unlock it.
7:10 Cross Country Chase
Vital Island is the one to beat. A winner of this race last year and an easy winner last time out in the same prep race as last year. If money comes for De Nordener, confidence may weaken, as there's no reason why that horse can't run better than last years 5th now a year older.
