An attempt at simplicity.
As you can see, the format of these little chats has changed. For the better? For the worse? For the foreseeable future? We shall see.
The yellow page and the spidery font appealed to me out of a page of complex weblog plans. The monetary hustle ones are fragmented and the terribly arty portfolios frankly scare me. I do not think in parallel - nor do I work in that fashion. One thing at a time, good or bad.
I think it will best serve people who are of the same mind. This need not be an age thing - though it must be said...that plays a part. There are going to be some young folks who also step carefully through life on a single path. Please be welcome to my column - it will not be single-minded, and may change subject every now and then, but you'll be able to follow it.
I was offered the controlling position for my hobby club's website - an organ developed by students at the behest of the club president - himself a graphic arts teacher. It is WordPress, but terribly complex. I admire the different divisions and artistry of the pages, but the controls are so hard to understand that I actually fear it.
I could not help but feel that the thing was a morass. As such, I asked for permission to rewrite it to a simpler format that could be maintained.
Fortunately that was granted, and the thing is gradually being picked clean of complexity. I take it as a sign that the rest of life could also do with editing.
