Five time Masters champion Tiger Woods is set to tee it up at Augusta National this week looking for his sixth Green Jacket.
Widely regarded as the greatest player of all time, the 46 year-old has been struggling for form and fitness in recent years but has made playing in the four Major Tournaments a priority as his career winds down.
It was fully expected that the 15-time Major winner would be involved but when he appeared on the pre-tournament interview schedule, it became clear than any doubts about his participation this week should be cast aside and once more fans would get the chance to see the legend walk around and play one of, if not the most beautiful courses on the planet.
Woods last won the event in 2019, which was his first major victory in over a decade. That in itself is as bizarre for me to write as it is for you to read but that car accident and fitness issues caused his career to plateau following victory in a playoff whilst dealing with a fracture in the 2008 US Open that led to him missing the rest of the season.

At 60/1, the Betfred traders are not considering him among the favourites. That is no great surprise considering that he hasn't played great since that car crash in 2021 that left him with life-threatening injuries. He has yet to play a full 72-hole event this year, so there will be massive questions about his stamina if he was to be towards the top of the Leaderboard. Last year he did start off with a 71 before falling away over the final three rounds carding scores of 74, 78 and 78.
We will have comprehensive coverage of the Masters right here on the Betfred Blog throughout the week as our Golf Tipster Jamie Worlsey will be all over the event with previews of the event, specials markets and First Round Leader all before the action starts in the early hours of Thursday morning US time. He'll also be around during the event with in-play updates.
