A busy day of racing action in store on Tuesday with five meetings across the UK and Ireland headlined by the opening evening of action at the Punchestown Festival.
They have a trio of Grade 1 races at the Kildare circuit, while further meetings come from Ffos Las over jumps as well as on the level at Epsom, where they start a new season, Yarmouth and Wolverhampton (AW).
Our selections include one of Willie Mullins' perceived lesser lights in a Grade 1 on day one at Punchestown.
Selections
- Punchestown 6.35 - Classic Getaway @ 4/1
- Epsom 3.35 - Neandra @ 10/3
- Ffos Las 5.10 - Bolsover Bill @ 6/4
Tip 1
Coming as it does after major spring meetings at Leopardstown, Cheltenham, Aintree and Fairyhouse, the Punchestown Festival can be prone to throwing up an odd shock result.
The Kildare jamboree is of course also noted for being a bit of a benefit for Ireland's champion trainer. Much of that owes to fact that Willie Mullins is willing to let his stars joust against one another.
That is evidenced in the Dooley Insurance Group Champion Novice Chase (6.35) where Appreciate It, Sir Gerhard, James Du Berlais and CLASSIC GETAWAY (4/1) all represent the Closutton powerhouse.
Appreciate It and Sir Gerhard have better form but have run in some tough races this spring and so Classic Getaway could be the answer under Danny Mullins.
His beginners' chase win at Gowran Park in November has worked nicely and he comes here a fresh horse with plenty scope for improvement. He may have more to give and enough about him to handle Journey With Me for Rachael Blackmore and Henry De Bromhead in this Grade 1 novice over three-miles.

Tip 2
The opening afternoon of a new term at Epsom and trainer Andrew Balding will be hoping that NEANDRA (10/3) can bag the Great Metropolitan Handicap over the Derby trip on the famous Downs.
The Jukebox Jury filly was successful in a couple of middle-distance events on the all-weather last year and got outstayed in valuable 1m6f handicap at York on final outing in October, finishing sixth.
He's relatively unexposed at this distance and should have more to come this season. Oisin Murphy takes over in the saddle for this seasonal bow and his filly has already displayed the ability to go well fresh. She's on the Most Napped table via the Betfred Betfinder and looks one to be with.
Tip 3
Last-time-out Plumpton winner BOLSOVER BILL (6/4) can add another success here despite being 5lb higher in the ratings.
That race seven weeks has thrown up a couple of subsequent winners and his case here is aided by the absence of likely danger Haveanothergoflo, now a non-runner.
Warren Greatrex's charge jumped quite well at Plumpton last time and came home five-lengths to the good under claimer Dylan Kitts, who stays on board now. He's undergone a wind operation since and with a repeat performance can taste more success.
