There's lots more racing action across Britain and Ireland on Wednesday, with day two of the Punchestown Festival the headline act as Gold Cup one-two Galopin Des Champs and Bravemansgame renew their rivalry in the Punchestown version at 5.55 this evening.
The Irish action is joined by four meetings in the UK, with jumps fare from Perth and Ludlow, as well as flat meetings from Catterick and Lingfield (AW).
Our midweek fancies include one for Gavin Cromwell heading for Scotland and a Listed Mares' Chase.
Selections
- Perth 3.30 - Brides Hill @ 6/4
- Ludlow 3.15 - The Wrekin @ 5/1
- Punchestown 7.45 - Fun Fun Fun @ 7/4
Tip 1
Some good quality afternoon fare from Perth tees us up nicely for Peerless Punchestown later in the day and trainer Gavin Cromwell has diverted his attention from the big event at home to target the Listed Maid Of Perth Mares' Chase (3.30) with BRIDES HILL (6/4).
It may well prove an inspired piece of placement from the Irishman. Brides Hill has taken in some good races this season, finishing second to the likes of Journey With Me and Allegorie De Vassy either side of Christmas, before picking up a Grade 2 novice contest at Thurles (2m6f, good) in February when repelling Telmesomethinggirl by four-lengths.
Her sights were raised considerably this month for a Grade 1 at Fairyhouse that included the likes of ill-fated Mighty Potter, Sir Gerhard and Appreciate and was won by Flame Bearer for Willie Mullins.
She's in calmer waters now and Keith Donoghue's partner is fancied to follow the likely pacesetting Pink Legend and pick her off, with the Venetia Williams inmate perhaps vulnerable coming here at the back end of a busy spring campaign.

Tip 2
Henry Daly's THE WREKIN (5/1) is well worth supporting in this Betfred Super Extra Place Race (four places) as he belatedly embarks on his chasing career.
He was a three-time hurdles winner in 2021 before missing all of last year. Not surprisingly, he looked in need of the run on his return at Catterick in January, but he has since run a good third over 2m5f on good ground at this track in February.
As a winner of his only start in point-to-points as a four-year-old, he should be one that takes to chasing and the move up to this trip just shy of three-miles looks another positive for him given the manner in which he finished out that hurdles contest over shorter nine weeks ago.
He's just seven-years-old, remains quite lightly-raced and this H.R. Smith Handicap Chase at Ludlow (3.15) could be an excellent opportunity for Richard Patrick's partner to shine and justify his inclusion on the Most Napped table via the Betfred Betfinder for Wednesday's racing.

Tip 3
It was very much as business as usual for Willie Mullins on day one at Punchestown and the champion trainer has plenty more chances to register this evening.
Looking all the way to the finale (7.45) and FUN FUN FUN could be generously priced at 7/4 to land the Weatherbys General Stud Book Irish EBF Mares bumper under Patrick Mullins.
She made it 2-2 when easily pulling away to win a Grade 2 at the Dublin Racing Festival in February with some of these rivals behind.
She was ridden off the pace since in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham and never really got a telling blow in. She's back against her own sex now and this drying ground should be to her liking.
Patrick Mullins may do well to down the colours of A Dream To Share in the Champion Bumper here an hour or so earlier, but he got a tough call spot-on when partnering Predators Gold on Tuesday in a bumper around here.
He's probably on the right one again from the Closutton five that contest the day two closer.
