Arsenal take on Chelsea on Tuesday night (20:00) in an attempt to keep pace with Manchester City at the top of the table, while the Blues are still searching for their first win in the second Frank Lampard era. We've previewed the game and provided you with some suggested best bets for the occasion.

Arsenal (4/6) will attempt to bounce back from a humbling 4-1 defeat to title rivals Manchester City last Wednesday, meaning their title destiny is no longer in their own hands.

Thanks to Manchester City's 2-1 victory over Fulham on Sunday, Mikel Arteta's men have been knocked off their perch and into second place, although Brighton's defeat to Nottingham Forest last Wednesday secured Champions League football for the Gunners for the first time since 2016-17.

Meanwhile, Chelsea (4/1) have lost all five matches since Frank Lampard returned to the dugout, with their latest defeat coming at the hands of West London rivals Brentford.

With reports speculating that Mauricio Pochettino could takeover in the summer, Chelsea players and fans alike have something to look forward to, but right now they are looking over their shoulder, as they are remarkably just 10 points clear of the relegation zone.

Team News

William Saliba looks unlikely to recover from his back problem in time for the visit of Chelsea, while Takehiro Tomiyasu and Mohamed Elneny are also watching on from the sidelines with their season-ending knee injuries.

As for the visitors, Mason Mount and Reece James are out for the remainder of the season, while Marc Cucurella is also facing a couple of weeks out with a thigh concern of his own.

As already mentioned, Arsenal will look to reignite their title aspirations against Chelsea, who look lost under Lampard.

Only Newcastle United have prevented the Gunners from scoring at the Emirates this season, but they've also only kept two clean sheets in 21 games at home too.

However, the opportunity for Arsenal to return to the top of the table - for 24 hours at least - is one they won't want to miss out on, so I'm expecting the Gunners to have enough quality to prevail in this game.

Clean sheets and Arsenal do not go hand-in-hand, so I fancy both teams to score, too.

Gabriel Martinelli to score anytime @ 2/1

The Brazilian winger has enjoyed a brilliant campaign up until this point for the Gunners.

Martinelli has scored 15 goals for Arsenal this season – and while he failed to score against City, he had netted four times in his previous eight matches.

With the injuries Chelsea have to contend with in defence, Martinelli's pace should open up plenty of opportunities.
