Sheffield Wednesday lost only six of their 46 regular-season matches in League One but two of those reverses came against Barnsley, who take on the Owls in Monday's playoff final at Wembley.
Wednesday supporters will be bracing themselves for more drama after a season in which they missed out on automatic promotion, despite racking up a colossal tally of 96 points.
The Owls then had to stage an incredible comeback in the playoff semi-final against Peterborough, winning on penalties after a 4-0 first-leg defeat at London Road, and they may have to be at their best to see off a dangerous Barnsley side.

Team news
Barnsley manager Michael Duff could have a fully-fit squad from which to choose. Devante Cole and Slobodan Tedic are likely to start in attack with experienced forward James Norwood among the substitutes.
Sheffield Wednesday are missing Mallik Wilks and Akin Famewo while George Byers (hamstring) is a major doubt. Marvin Johnson and Dominic Iorfa will be assessed.
Over 3.5 Goals @ 11/4
Sheffield Wednesday are understandably favourites for Monday's playoff final, given the consistency they showed during the regular season and their phenomenal comeback against Peterborough in the semis.
However, the way Posh were able to play through Wednesday during their 4-0 first-leg win must be a concern for manager Darren Moore and Barnsley scored six times in their two victories over the Owls this term.
Over 3.5 Goals was a winning bet in nine of Barnsley's last 18 matches before the playoffs and their last three regular-season trips included a 4-4 draw at MK Dons and a 5-1 rout of Forest Green.
The Tykes should be less intimidated by Wednesday than most League One teams would be given their successes this season and the 2-2 draw in 90 minutes could be worth a punt at 14/1.
Football Betting Odds
#PickYourPunt - Over 39.5 Booking Points, Both Teams To Score & Nicky Cadden To Score Anytime @ 13/2
This season's League One clashes between Barnsley and Sheffield Wednesday produced booking points totals of 60 at Hillsborough and 80 at Oakwell. With promotion on the line, the Yorkshire rivals should be involved in another feisty contest so over 39.5 booking points looks a solid #PickYourPunt selection.
Both teams scored in five of Barnsley's last six matches away from Oakwell, including a 1-1 semi-final first-leg draw at Bolton. The Tykes scored 80 goals in the regular season, just one fewer than Wednesday, and there is plenty of attacking quality in both camps.
Barnsley midfielder Nicky Cadden scored his side's goal in the away leg at Bolton and all six of his strikes this season, including one against champions Plymouth, have come since the start of February. Cadden had four shots in the first leg against the Trotters, who had an outstanding defensive record this season, and he is worth backing to get on the scoresheet at Wembley.
