Jillian Ward shares her 'secret' to being pretty

True enough, Kapuso prime teen actress Jillian Ward of the hit afternoon series 'Abot-Kamay na Pangarap' is more than just a pretty face. As she faced the entertainment media and fans during a recent meet-and-greet event, she beamed a tireless smile to everyone who greeted her and asked for a photo with her.

When asked about her "secret" to being pretty, she admitted that there is no such thing as a secret. If one wants to emulate her qualities, she said that taking care of one's health should be on top of it all.

Being healthy results to being pretty

"Kapag inalagaan mo talaga yung health mo... lumalabas yung sa physical beauty mo po e!" Jillian exclaimed during the short question and answer portion with the media during Pretty Secret's meet-and-greet event as they launch their newest Hello Sea! Limited Edition Mermaid Collection that the Sparkle artist is endorsing.

"More than inaalagaan mo po yung itsura mo, importante po talaga na healthy ka. Hindi nga po ako gano'n e! Like few months ago, hindi po ako natutulog masyado.

"Ngayon po bina-value ko po talaga yung health ko - natutulog ako, kumakain ako [nang] maayos, umiinom ng tubig nang maayos. Talagang [dapat] alagaan ni'yo po yung health ni'yo, lalo na po ngayon."

She also added that being happy reflects on one's appearance. "And kapag happy ka po... nagri-reflect po yun sa 'yo e."

Jillian's own makeup

When asked if she works on her own makeup, the eighteen-year-old star excitedly shared how she does her own look for her tapings.

"Pag sa taping po, hilig ko po talaga na ako po mismo yung nagmi-makeup kasi parang part po siya ng preparation ko para po do'n sa role ko bago ako mag-take. Parang personal preparation ko po siya.

"Ginagawa ko po: usually light lang po talaga, tapos ginagamit ko po itong usual kong ginagamit talaga — yung lip balm po [ng Pretty Secret] kasi pag sa taping, [given] yung role ko din bilang doctor, hindi po pwedeng [naka-]super-makeup. So kailangan, light lang po siya.

"And kailangan din po, long-lasting, kasi po pag sa taping usually po mainit po yan or nakakahulas... So perfect po yung Pretty Secret."

New line of makeup goodies

The Meet and Greet was held this May 24 at Watsons, SM North EDSA, where their celebrity endorser saw her fans who are also users of the brand.

Pretty Secret's #MadeToBeMermaid event was hosted by radio announcer and content creator Jho Del Pilar. According to the press release, the event aimed to captivate the hearts of would-be mermaids. "This is the part where imagination meets beauty." It was also attended by the company's COO and Managing Director, Margaret Lee, as well as their brand ambassadress Richelle and Rochelle San Pedro AKA San Pedro Twins.

Some of the fans, along with the invited media, influencers, and guests, got tickets to a special block screening of Disney's The Little Mermaid, graced by Jillian here.
