The big one at Epsom on Friday afternoon is of course the Betfred Oaks (16:30) - and I've got a couple of fancies for the occasion.
The Oaks Tips
- Soul Sister @ 11/4
- Running Lion @ 6/1
When tipping horses, I often start by evaluating the claims of the favourite - especially if they're as short as Aidan O'Brien's Savethelastdance, who comfortably heads our betting for the Betfred Oaks at time of writing.
The daughter of Galileo catapulted to the top of the market after her stunning 22L success in the Cheshire Oaks at Chester just over three weeks ago and has been well-backed since.
I think she's plenty short enough now, though, so I'm taking her on.
She's yet to run on ground better than soft - and 'firm' is currently in the going description at Epsom - while the form of her Chester win is questionable. There's every chance she could be as special as she looked on The Roodee, but I'm happy to let her win at those odds.

Instead, I'm putting all my eggs in the John & Thady Gosden basket, for I like the claims of both their runners.
SOUL SISTER - the choice of Frankie Dettori who has already tasted Classic success this season - is my main fancy for the race.
I think she brings easily the best form to the table courtesy of her triumph in the G3 Musidora Stakes at York a couple of weeks ago, when she beat the 113-rated Novakai and previous Oaks-hopeful Infinite Cosmos by a widening 4L.
The daughter of the great Frankel shaped like she will relish this step up to 1m4f and should have no issues with the forecast conditions - plus the Gosdens are in red-hot form, operating at a 25% strike rate with 12 winners from 48 runners.
That's also good news for RUNNING LION, who I will be having a saver on.
She may not be the yard's first-string, but she has the extremely capable Oisin Murphy - who's also won a Classic this term - in the plate and comes into this bidding for a five-timer.
Her form isn't quite up to the level of her stablemate, but it's not far off and she's improving with every run. There's a small doubt about the trip for this daughter of the late Roaring Lion, but if she stays she must have a fantastic chance of beating her 10 rivals to win the Betfred Oaks.
