Spurs welcome Crystal Palace to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday (15:00) as Ryan Mason's side attempt to keep their top four dream alive, while Palace will have their sights set on a top-10 finish. We've previewed the game and provided you with some suggested best bets for the occasion.
Spurs vs Crystal Palace Tips
- Over 2.5 goals @ 8/11
- Both teams to score @ 4/6
Just seven days on from their mauling at St James' Park, Ryan Mason must have been fearing the worst for his Tottenham (4/5) side at Anfield last weekend, when Liverpool sailed into a 3-0 lead after just 15 minutes.
However, unlike the capitulation at Newcastle, Spurs threatened an almighty turnaround through Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Richarlison, only for Diogo Jota to break Lilywhite hearts in added time.
While there was a lot for Mason to feel proud about at Anfield, 15 goals conceded in Tottenham's last four games is alarming to say the least, and since their goalless draw with AC Milan two months ago, Spurs have scored and shipped at least one goal in each of their last eight matches.
As for Palace (3/1), thanks to a fourth win from six games since Roy Hodgson's homecoming, Palace have leapfrogged Chelsea into 11th place in the table on the coveted 40-point mark, and the Eagles' Premier League safety could be confirmed this weekend if results below them go their way.
Jordan Ayew, Wilfried Zaha, Eberechi Eze and Jeffrey Schlupp managed to capitalise for the Eagles last weekend in an epic capital clash with West Ham United, but two clean sheets in 10 games for Palace isn't the most reassuring statistic ahead of a visit to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Team News
Oliver Skipp has emerged as a doubt for Saturday after Diogo Jota's challenge on the midfielder last weekend, while Emerson Royal and Rodrigo Bentancur remain out with long-term knee injuries.
In addition, Hugo Lloris is yet to recover from a hip problem and may not be ready for a comeback just yet.
As for the Eagles, Wilfried Zaha marked his return to the first XI in perfect fashion with a goal against West Ham, but the Ivorian then came off with a knock to the knee so he could be a doubt here.
Bet on Spurs vs Crystal Palace with Betfred Here
Over 2.5 goals @ 8/11
Five of the last seven league meetings between Tottenham and Crystal Palace have produced over 2.5 goals, and I'm expecting another action-packed 90 minutes this weekend.
In fact - each of Spurs' last five matches and three of the Eagles' last six outings have witnessed at least three goals scored, so I'm backing over 2.5 goals on Saturday.
Both teams to score @ 4/6
Both teams have scored in each of Tottenham's last eight league games and the high-scoring theme of their matches can continue against Crystal Palace, who themselves have netted away at Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United this season.
Both teams are coming into this match off the back of seven-goal thrillers so confidence should be high in front of goal, and both sides have shown they are vulnerable at the back.
