Racing on Sunday in the UK and Ireland comes from the Curragh, Fontwell, Kelso and Uttoxeter. In Ireland, it is the turn of the fillies for the second Irish Classic of the weekend, with the Irish 1,000 Guineas taking centre stage.
One of our fancies comes in the Group One Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh where last season's French Derby winner can get back to winning ways at the highest level.
Selections
- Fontwell 14:40 - Jigginstown King @ 11/8
- Curragh 14:45 - Vadeni @ 6/5
Curragh 15:15 - Honey Girl @ 11/4
Tip 1
JIGGINSTOWN KING (11/8) got off the mark earlier this month at Fakenham (2m5f) where he made all in a class five handicap chase. He was not fluent over all his fences, but he kept on well on the flat throughout the race.
The handicapper has put Oliver Signy's gelding up 6lb in the ratings as he bids to successfully follow up. There is likely to be a lot more to come from this horse as he enjoys 'Good' ground, which he should get throughout the summer.
The Fakenham winner features on the Betfred Betfinder as one of the most Napped selections this afternoon. He has just three rivals to beat this time and he is the most progressive runner in this small field.

Tip 2
VADENI (6/5) was one of the most impressive three-year-old colts in Europe last season. He was victorious in the Prix du Jockey Club (French Derby), Eclipse Stakes and Prix du Guiche across the campaign.
On ground which was far from ideal, and over the distance of 1m4f, the French horse also finished second of 20 runners in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. That was a huge run against the older generation at Longchamp.
Jean-Claude Rouget's colt made his seasonal reappearance in the Prix Ganay at Longchamp last month where he came home in fourth place. He will have benefited greatly from that run so expect to see him much fitter on this occasion. The French is the one they all have to beat.

Tip 3
It has been an excellent start to the season for HONEY GIRL (11/4). The filly has recorded back-to-back victories, with successes coming at this course over 7f. Her last triumph came in the Group Three Athasi Stakes where she came out on top by over three lengths.
The daughter of Mayson featured in the Group One Coronation Stakes last season where she did not disgrace herself at the royal meeting, coming home midfield in the race which was won by Inspiral.
Trainer Joseph O'Brien will saddle three runners in this race and it is Honey Girl who is the highest rated of that trio of fillies. If she can get her nose in front at this level, and there is no reason why she can't, then she is likely to be back at the highest level later in the campaign.
