Racing on Sunday in the UK and Ireland comes from Hamilton, Leopardstown and Newmarket. Unfortunately, due to a waterlogged course, Salisbury's meeting has been abandoned.
It is 1,000 Guineas Day at Newmarket where the fillies take centre stage at Flat Racing's HQ. Our selection in the race looks like a superstar in the making and she can maintain her 100% record with victory in the British Classic for Dermot Weld.
Selections
- Newmarket 13:15 - Adayar @ 5/4
- Newmarket 15:00 - Life In Motion @ 3/1
- Newmarket 15:40 - Tahiyra @ 13/8
Tip 1
Former Derby winner ADAYAR makes his seasonal reappearance in the opening race of the card at Newmarket on 1,000 Guineas Day. He missed the majority of last season due to a setback, but he produced two big performances, including a close second-place finish in the British Champion Stakes at Ascot behind Bay Bridge.
Charlie Appleby's runner tends to produce his best when fresh, as he has shown in the last two seasons. He has run well on 'Soft' ground before, so conditions will suit the talented five-year-old this afternoon.
The Godolphin horse is on the Betfred Betfinder as one of the most Napped selections this afternoon. He is a long way ahead of his rivals on ratings and, as long as he produces something close to what he is capable of, he will take some beating in this small field.

Tip 2
French trainer Andre Fabre won this Group Two contest in 2014 and 2016, so when he sends a filly across for this race, you always have to take note. He is bidding to complete his hat-trick with LIFE IN MOTION this year.
The daughter of Sea The Stars has won her last three races in France, including last month at Longchamp where she landed a Listed contest over this distance of 1m1f. Her record overall is five wins from eight starts and there is likely to be much more to come from her.
The French-based filly should relish the ground at Newmarket, as the majority of her runs have come on 'Soft' ground. She is also comfortable if the ground became 'Heavy'.
The two leading challengers to the Godolphin filly are Prosperous Voyage and Viva Sistina, but they are both having their first outings of the season, so they may just be a little short of fitness.
Tip 3
TAHIYRA featured just twice last season as a two-year-old, but she made a huge impression in those runs to put herself at the head of the market for the 1,000 Guineas.
Dermot Weld's runner won the Group One Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh on her second outing. She went clear of her rivals in the closing stages, including Meditate who had to settle for second place.
The Irish horse looks to have the makings of being a superstar. She is already rated at 118 in the official ratings (the highest in this field), and she should be even more powerful now as a three-year-old.
