There is plenty more racing action ahead on Thursday, with six meetings taking place across Britain and Ireland.
They come at Ayr, Salisbury and Redcar on the turf, alongside all-weather offerings from Lingfield and Chelmsford and a jumps fixture at Tipperary.
Thursday's fancies include the returning Coverdale for an Ed Bethell team in good recent form as they head for Redcar.
Selections
- Redcar 3.25 - Coverdale @ 9/2
- Salisbury 4.55 - Monjules @ 9/4
- Chelmsford 8.45 - Tarrabb @ 6/4
Tip 1
Trainer Ed Bethell has his team in fine order in the early knockings of the turf season, with a 33 per cent strike-rate from a dozen runner across the last fortnight, and COVERDALE (9/2) can be another to shine for him at Redcar.
He shaped nicely in a trio of novice/maiden outings at 7f/1m before going agonisingly close at Pontefract (1m, good to soft) in his handicap bow when second to Orchestra from the Ed Dunlop team.
He was outpaced two furlongs from home in the mile nursery, but rallied well to go down a neck at the line. The son of Expert Eye has been gelded during his winter break and has plenty scope for better this term as a three-year-old, especially with this extra emphasis on stamina deemed very likely to suit Callum Rodriguez's partner.

Tip 2
It's a long time since MONJULES (9/4) was sighted racing on the Flat, but that doesn't mean he's not considered a massive player in the Division 1 of the one-mile-six-furlong handicap at Salisbury.
February 2021 on the Fibresand at Chantilly was the most recent time he ran on the level, but he has won three times over hurdles since joining Harry Fry last year.
Those wins came at Sedgefield in December and at Fontwell in February and March, so there are no worries about him fitness-wise.
He was 0-5 on the Flat in Franc,e but never raced beyond 1m2½f and so there's a major chance he can show improved form in this code with the extended trip to suit him.
Fry has proven his ability to target hurdlers at races on the Flat, with Metier bagging the November Handicap at Doncaster last season.
A mark of 57 is surely going to underestimate Monjules now and he looks one that Fry can enjoy some wins with in this sphere, while the booking of bang in-form rider Kevin Stott also looks a plus.

Tip 3
The nightcap at Chelmsford is a tight little contest despite only featuring four runners. Each has claims, but top-weight TARRABB (6/4) may be the one to beat for Owen Burrows and champion jockey William Buick.
With just seven starts, the Exceed And Excel filly is the least exposed runner in the line-up. She won a decent novice over C&D on debut last season and added turf wins at Ascot and Haydock (7f/1m) in July and August.
Though beaten favourite on her final start at Newmarket in October, softening ground perhaps wasn't to her benefit there and, in any case, it was a warm contest with three of the four that finished in front of her winning their next starts.
Buick remains on board here and this filly can progress as a 4YO. She's on the Most Napped table via the Betfred Betfinder and can give weight and a beating to these older rivals.
