Plenty of racing action is in store on Tuesday as they go on the Flat at Brighton, Yarmouth and Nottingham in the afternoon alongside all-weather cards at Wolverhampton and Newcastle later and a jumps fixture from Ballinrobe also in the evening.
Amongst our Tuesday fancies is a Marcus Tregoning-trained filly with a superb record around Brighton and bidding to make a quick start to the new season at the seaside circuit.
Selections
- Brighton 3.20 - Wisper @ 9/1
- Newcastle 9.00 - Spirit Of Bowland @ 5/4

Tip 1
Course form at Brighton counts for plenty and the Marcus Tregoning-trained WISPER (9/1) has it in spades ahead of her seasonal comeback in the British EBF Ruby Jubilee Fillies' Handicap over a mile-and-a-quarter.
The mare won three races at this venue last year, two of them over C&D and one over a mile, extending her record at Brighton to an impressive four wins and a second from only five starts here.
She ended last season finishing second at Windsor (1m2f, soft) off a then career-high mark of 79 and while she is rated 3lb higher now, she is proven to go well fresh and looks a tempting each-way contender for this competitive fillies' event.
Dougie Costello's partner faces stern opposition in the form of Crystal Estrella for Sir Michael Stoute and Three Priests for Roger Varian but her record at this track is appealing and she is on the Most Napped table via the Betfred Betfinder for today's racing. She should give a good account.
Tip 2
All the way to the nightcap at Newcastle this evening for the second selection with in-form SPIRIT OF BOWLAND (5/4) expected to take plenty halting in the one-mile closing handicap at Gosforth Park in the hands of Callum Rodriguez.
The gelded son of Coach House didn't make much of an impression during 2022, failing to win in eight starts but it has been a different tale so far this spring.
He ran well after a layoff at Southwell over 7f in March and duly built on that when scoring here over the same trip before the end of that month.
He went back to Southwell 18 days ago and doubled his tally at this mile trip. On that occasion Rodriquez was forced to wait for a gap to appear in the closing stages but once the daylight appeared, his partner was very willing and went through and won the race arguably with much more in hand than a one-length margin suggests.
He's gone up 4lb but is an improving four-year-old and this mark of 52 isn't deemed likely to be a ceiling for him. He's on the Most Napped via the Betfred Betfinder and should justify that spot.

Tip 3
Newcomer Embesto for Roger Varian has proven popular in the betting but at the prices it's worth siding instead with COVERT LEGEND (5/1) for the Joseph Parr string.
The Zoustar gelding debuted at Kempton in early April over a mile and was a rather luckless fourth, having been badly hampered inside the final furlong and a half when attempting to come and challenge.
He rallied after that misfortune and should improve for the experience. It was a promising run in the circumstances and he could have plenty more to come switched to the grass in the hands of Neil Callan now.
