Racing on Wednesday in the UK and Ireland comes from Beverley, Cartmel, Hamilton, Newton Abbot, Warwick and Wexford.
One of our fancies is at Beverley where a Ruth Carr runner is making a quick reappearance as she bids to successfully follow up from a victory just seven days ago.
Selections
- Beverley 14:10 - High Security @ 9/2
- Hamilton 14:50 - Lieutenant Rascal @ 15/8
- Beverley 16:40 - Hostelry @ 10/3
Tip 1
C&D winner HIGH SECURITY (9/2) has gone close to victory on a couple of occasions this season, including when finishing strongly at this course just over two weeks ago in a class five contest.
Nigel Tinkler's runner is now down to a mark of 62, which is 2lb lower than his last success. This latest mark is a long way below this horse's peak position in the ratings, as he once was as high as 75.
The five-year-old sprinter features on the Betfred Betfinder as one of the most Napped selections this afternoon. He is good enough to carry top weight to victory and take advantage of this drop in grade.

Tip 2
Unlike many of the runners in this maiden contest at Hamilton, LIEUTENANT RASCAL (15/8) has had the benefit of already having two runs at the racecourse. Not only does he know what it is all about now, but he also ran a promising second place over this C&D earlier this month.
The son of U S Navy Flag was denied a first success by just a neck. He led the field for the majority of that contest and despite being passed inside the final furlong, he stayed on gamely to go down by that narrow margin.
Trainer George Scott is opting to apply blinkers onto his colt here for the first time. The headgear should ensure he sticks to the task at hand, and it might help him improve again. He will not need to step up much from his last effort to get his nose in front this time.

Tip 3
HOSTELRY (10/3) has consistently been running well this season and she gained her reward for that positive run of performances when she scored at Ayr last Wednesday. She won a 1m handicap contest at this level by a small margin.
The six-year-old has been a runner-up at Southwell (AW) (1m) and Musselburgh (1m1f) this season. The handicapper has put her up just 2lb in the weights for her latest success and that keeps her off a workable mark of 56.
Ruth Carr's runner will need to concede weight to the rest of her rivals in this class six contest, but she is helped by Alex Jary claiming 7lb off her back. It means she is 2lb better off at the weights than she was when successful at Ayr. Her connections clearly think she is ready to go again and that she can complete this quickfire double.
