A Betfred regular from London has made history by becoming our first Nifty 50 consolation winner.
Eddie Pearson, 56, missed out on the top prize on offer from our popular numbers game by one – but still picked up £10,000.
The electrician placed his £1 wager at his local Betfred shop on Baker Street in Marylebone, which is based on the fictitious address of Arthur Conan Doyle's famous detective character Sherlock Holmes.
As part of the revamped Nifty 50, all six numbers wins Fred's FIVE MILLION POUND jackpot, but if you miss out by one then it's a £10,000 consolation.

Father-of-two Eddie said: "I went for the numbers 5, 6, 9, 22, 23 and 30 and ironically it was my favourite number 6 – the day of my birthday – that wasn't drawn out.
"I've been a regular on the Nifty 50 for five years or so and to win £10,000 is very nice indeed.
"I do feel a bit disappointed not to have won the £5m, but I'd like to thank Fred Done for my consolation.
"It's come at a nice time because we're moving house, and I'll be taking my wife on holiday in Spain. She's from Bolivia in South America, so we can also afford to go there for Christmas too."
Betfred boss Fred Done said: "I'm chuffed to bits that we've got our first winning loser! It's elementary Eddie who has proved himself a right bright spark.
"Let's hope this is the start of many in our increasingly popular Nifty 50 numbers game."
