Darren Moore says Huddersfield Town striker Jordan Rhodes is a player Sheffield Wednesday will "have to watch" when the two teams meet in the first round of the EFL Cup on Sunday (Match result - Sheff Wed 11/8, Draw 11/5, Huddersfield 19/10).

Sunday's clash at Hillsborough Stadium kicks off the Northern Section of the EFL Cup and it will be the first competitive game for the Owls since last season's relegation from the Championship.

It has already been a busy summer window for Wednesday, with the likes of Jaden Brown, Jack Hunt and Dennis Adeniran all arriving on free transfers, while Bailey Peacock-Farrell and Lewis Wing (4/1 - Anytime Goalscorer) are two of four players to join on loan.

One player that departed Hillsborough was Scotland international Rhodes, who left after the expiration of his contract and penned a three-year deal with the Terriers.

The 31-year-old (23/10 - Anytime Goalscorer) will be beginning his second spell with Town, who he left nine years ago to join Blackburn Rovers, and Wednesday boss Moore knows his side will need to be wary of the striker's threat.

"I know Jordan really well. He has moved on and signed for them now, he'll be here tomorrow," he told the media. "Jordan I'm sure will be focused on doing well for them.

"It's up to us to do well for ourselves. We have to play our own game, we know the goal threat Jordan carries and the good player he is. It will be good to see him tomorrow but we have to remain focused and one that, if he starts, we have to watch."

Championship outfit Huddersfield have also been busy in the summer window, with Josh Ruffels (28/1 - First Goalscorer), Lee Nicholls, Matty Pearson and Ollie Turton joining on free transfers.

The last three meetings between these two teams have ended all square and, with this tie going straight to penalties if the scores are level after 90 minutes, if may prove prudent to back this match to be decided by spot-kicks.
