New Year's Day is always a big one in the racing world and 2022 is no exception, with no fewer than eight cards in total, with action on either side of the Irish Sea.
They get things going at Fairyhouse between 11:50 and 15:45 and of their eight races, three carry the Extra Place Race promotion.
The 12:55, 13:30 and 14:05 are all involved and the middle one, a Handicap Hurdle over 3m 110yds takes note, with 5/1 Nicole's Milan aiming for a fifth win here having done so over slightly shorter just three weeks ago.
Tramore hosts the second Irish card with them heading off seven times from 12:00 to 15:30. Both the opener and the closer carry the Extra Place offer, as does the Handicap Hurdle at 13:45.
The signs are that 4/1 Roped In is ready to take the next step after respectable showings at both Punchestown and Galway since returning.
This card also features double Cheltenham Gold Cup hero Al Boum Photo, who is 3/10 to strike in the Savills New Year's Day Chase.
Back this side of the Irish Sea next for the annual New Year's Day card at Cheltenham, with seven races at Prestbury Park between 12:15 and 15:50.
The 12:15, 12:50, 14:00, 15:10 and 15:50 all carry the Extra Place but Betfred are going further with their Super Extra Place at 14:35.
They'll be paying five places on the feature and Art Approval is 11/2 to score as Fergal O'Brien's charge steps up to three miles, having won here back in November.
Catterick's six races run from 12:25 to 15:20 with both the 13:00 and the closer carrying the Extra Place.
In the former, a rise in the rates may hamper defending champion Oliver's Island (4/1) and that could pay off for a horse like Fame And Hope (4/1) who finished well over a similar trip to this 3m 1f 71yds on December 8.
Musselburgh has six races from 12:30 to 15:25, with 5/2 Tommy's Oscar eyeing a hat-trick in the Extra Place Race at 14:10, while they also have that offer in the closer at Southwell, where they go off eight times on the all-weather from 12:33 to 16:30.
The card at the Nottinghamshire track also gives punters a little extra with Betfred's Free Bet if 2nd available on the 15:28 and 16:00. In the latter of those, Onesmoothoperator (10/3) is sure to contend having been a course and distance winner here on December 22. That came after finishing second at Wolverhampton 18 days earlier on his only other start since switching to Brian Ellison's yard.
Finally, they also have racing action in Norfolk, with Fakenham hosting six contests between 12:45 and 15:40.
